Hipwee Travel will provide special coverage on popular tourist destinations in Indonesia. We named it Travel Reportage. Each month we will explore a destination that is often a dream for travelers. Not only the destination, we will also discuss points of view and other stories about the destination that have never been narrated before.

For this month's destination our choice fell to Papua, Indonesia's easternmost province. Who would have thought Papua had a variety of charming natural beauty. For the second article, we will cross into Papua New Guinea with only KTP capital and no passport or visa. Can it really work?

The border army asked me to put a camera in my bag. He was worried that later cameras would be taken by officers in Papua New Guinea . Although I objected a bit, I still put the camera in my bag. Yes, rather than complicated in neighboring countries right?

Even though they were quite excited when they were about to cross the border, in reality the border of Papua New Guinea was very slow. Relax and just let us come inside. Without any documents, including passports or visas. Here's the story of the exciting experience of Hipwee Travel to Papua New Guinea!

At the Skouw border, citizens of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea can easily enter and exit other countries. Why is that?

Skouw Border on Monday (4/2) is quite crowded. Understandably, today is a national day of conflict where many residents of Jayapura and outside Papua are vacationing at Skouw . It's just that Skouw Market was not crowded that day because it was not a market day. What are you doing on vacation to the RI-PNG border ? What is going on over there?

Curiosity must arise when you are at the border. The boundary line on the map which is only a dotted line separates many things, from basic life to politics. No exception to the boundary at Skouw, Jayapura. Papua with magnificent and dashing boundaries, while Papua New Guinea with a simple fence. Life behind the line is the same as the border post. Papua is now advanced, Papua New Guinea is still with its simplicity.

Hipwee Travel tried to get into the Papua New Guinea border fence at Wutung, Sandaun. It turns out it's really easy to go abroad. Without a passport, visa and capital ID card only

Together with dozens of other Indonesian citizens, Hipwee Travel also entered the Papua New Guinea boundary fence . The fence was simple, the building was like a large security guard post. Previously, we left our KTP guard post at Skouw. At the border of Papua New Guinea , there is no request, but they are welcome. Wow, it turned out well, yes, the Papua New Guinea border guard .

After crossing the border, there are areas such as terminals where there are some people who rent cars to the nearest town, Vanimo. While there are several Papuan New Guinea people sitting in the area. Whether they want to go to Skouw or just sell, it can't be known clearly. Not far from there, there are some souvenir and food sellers. It seems like there are quite a lot of tourists from Indonesia so they sell there.

Not far from the Wutung border, it turns out there is a beautiful beach called Wutung Beach in Papua New Guinea. There are quite a lot of tourists from Indonesia visiting there

Down a bit from souvenir sellers, there is one really good tourist spot in Papua New Guinea. Seen from the top of a beach with quite large waves and a hill that juts into the ocean. The view from above looks very beautiful and interesting for photographs. Not a few tourists from Indonesia who come there. The entry ticket also uses rupiah, you know, 10 thousand rupiah price. The writing in the tourist area is all in Indonesian. Whereas the language of Papua New Guinea uses English 'slank' which is quite unique.

After finishing the photos on the beach, we then returned to the border again. We also met Papuan New Guinea children who could only speak English

It's incomplete if you don't take pictures with children when visiting a place, especially another country. We did not miss the opportunity. Children of Papua New Guinea who are very cheerful are like children of Papua. The difference is they speak English although it sounds quite strange to the ear.

After the photos at the border, Hipwee Travel immediately returned to Indonesia via a magic fence that did not require any of these documents. The reason is the close economic transactions between the two countries. Many residents of Papua New Guinea shop at Skouw and are very crowded on market days. So the border is rather relaxed and very friendly. There is no tension or horror like in other border posts. The RI-PNG Skouw-Wutung border could be the most beautiful border in the world. Just enough KTP, you can move to another country. Hehehe.

Come on, if you want to increase the number of visits from other countries, you can really come to Skouw and explore Papua New Guinea around the border. Don't stay away but yes! https://speakerdeck.com/veronicaputri
